Here we go again....
This time the Campbells were off to find the Way West....
Across Southern Minnesota and almost all of South Dakota you gently "withdraw" from civilization. Slowly the suburbs fade to farms, then to ranches, then nothing. After several hours of nothing, the Badlands confront you as they did the earliest settlers, with even the French and Native Americans agreeing on the name "bad lands to cross" for this moonlike geology.
