Nestled in the St. Croix Valley and boasting a charming old-world atmosphere, Stillwater
is one of the most visited small cities in Minnesota. Stillwater offers year round attractions: bald eagles in the Spring, great
shopping on Main Street in the Summer, stunning Autumn scenery in the Fall, and ice fishing in the Winter.
There are currently 5 steamboats operating out of Stillwater, recalling the essence of the town's steamboat era.
The river is also home to one of the state's two remaining lift bridges, pictured near the top of this page.

Architecture buffs: take note. Stillwater is home to some of the finest examples of 19th century
residential architecture. With just a short drive into the residential area of Stillwater, you will be able to see homes
built in the Queen Anne, Second Empire and Stick Styles of the 1800's as well as the Prairie Style of this century.
Many of older homes have been restored and opened as Bed and Breakfasts.

Travel back in time aboard the Minnesota Zephyr - an elegant dining train that journeys along the St. Croix Valley.
Five dining cars and live music from the 40's and 50's add to the experience.
The Stillwater Depot is located at 610 N. Main, PO Box 573, Stillwater, MN 55082. For more information, call 1-800-992-6100.
Overlooking the river, Pioneer Park was originally the site of Isaac Staples Mansion, built in 1875. The home was later
torn down and the land given to the city for a park in 1935. In addition to the stunning river views, this
park also offers a large play area and stage.
Stillwater is home to a wide variety of restaurants that will suit anyone's taste! Many
eating establishments are located either right on the water (like the Dock Cafe, pictured here) or offer picturesque
views of the river while dining.
